Daniel Cerny was born in 1977 in the Czech town of Jindrichuv Hradec, South Bohemia, but spent his youth in Trebon.
In 1995, he completed his basic blacksmith education and in 1998 completed his artisan blacksmith education in Jihlava. Since 2000, he works as an independent blacksmith.

In the year 2002, Daniel leased the recently restored historic blacksmith forge in Nove Hrady. The actual working space in that forge was rather small and its location in the center of Nove Hrady not suitable for heavy work with power hammers.
In 2003, he bought the former machine workshop of the peat-digging corporation in Blata, in the nearby Novohradska forests. It is here that his dream of a traditional blacksmith workshop is coming to fruit.
